360 Rig + Pipeline

I have been using Toon Boom Harmony for seven years and the software constantly gets improved.
Now Toon Boom is nearly limitless to create puppet animation with any visual direction.

During the production of my upcoming film The Isle of Decoys, I came up with an original pipeline to animate characters using my very flexible 360° rotatable rig:


After puppet animation is done, I used several modules in Toon Boom to boil the contour lines.
Finally, I used an auto-painting software to animate the painterly texture to achieve the hand crafted animation look:


We are approaching the time when we can produce puppet animation that is as high quality as the frame-by-frame one.
